This April we welcomed Herbost Farms, of Poland, located near the Warsaw area to Crosby Mint Farm. Ideas and conversation were shared between the farmers, comparing the United States and Poland in reference to soil, climate, and markets throughout their prospective country. Local Michigan State Representative, 93rd district, Paul Opsommer was kind enough to stop by and welcome them to Michigan.
Note from Peppermint Jim: Although separated by continents, we had exchanged talks for a year with the Herbost Farm. Not knowing what to expect, I found a great kinship with these people and their love for their land as well. The exchange of information, different farming practices, and their goal for natural, quality products, and discussion for importing and exporting, will lead us to new friendship and new business. We are all a part of a global community.
